But the BOTTOM line is they didn't , so please just deal with it and try to finish out the rest of your season and try to prepare your team for a run in the playoffs. Face it--Burton has braggin rights for another year.
I will second that motion. As I stated before, all schools have their share of redneck fans.
This post has just gone all to hell. This is really pitiful, its a bunch of kids on here acting like its the end of the world because of a football game. Pv game planned well this week against Burton and had an excellent strategy. Mistakes cost them this game. If these two teams played 10 times i could very well see it going 5-5. But please, can we all just move away from this thread, it gave me a headache just reading it.

Norton's stands were packed. I saw most leave the stadium and leave the park. the percentage that made their way to the field was far less than what was in the stand and of those that made their way to the field not all acted like rednecks. some had very legit reasons to be there, family of the coaches or players. family making plans to pick up their kids after they got back to Norton and so on. you want to judge a whole community by a few bad apples is just wrong.

He was told by this man "go ahead and get another runner up" and get off "My Field", along with other fans and mostly parents going on the field. Last time I checked that place was a public park? Could be wrong not sure. No one has said anything about the behavior of this man last night. To the best of my knowledge Coach Adams from Norton has NEVER attacked or said anything to any fan or player from another team. Last night went beyond fans, it's to be expected sadly enough, however I simply can not get over a grown man who is supposed to lead by example acting like a small child who suddenly wants to take his toys and go home. I seem to remember watching PV fans cheering and having a good time on the field at Norton after beating us at many games. Someone needs to speak to the behavior of this coach, I for one am glad that my son can look to Coach Adams to teach him to win and lose with some dignity. I for one am tired of explaining to my son why "those people" are saying "those bad words" to us after winning a game in Bullet Park.

Maybe he made these comments, and maybe he did not. I question your credibility since you are clearly partisan in this debate. I believe that you are attacking Coach Robbins, because you know that his history of controversial comments make him an easy target. Your story seems false and contrived, but if indeed it happened, I wouldn't put it past you or somebody else to bait him into making a harsh comment. Additionally you are attacking the man in a forum where he cannot defend himself or his actions. This is very cowardly.
If you want to hold the moral high ground, then you should take your vendetta elsewhere and dont air it in a public place where the debate isn't fair. This is a sports forum. It's not a place to launch partisan, personal attacks on people who can't defend themselves. Your story cannot count for very much since it seems that you loath Powell Valley. People will know as much after reading the poorly veiled anti-Powell Valley rhetoric in your posts. Not only do you want to beat Powell Valley in football, but you also want to hurt the institution and its people. Take from that what you will, but it doesn't speak well of your character.

This is what I really don't understand, this thread began as an insult to the Fans from Norton, now it's turned into an all out assault on Burton and their ability to play ball. Yes Burton did beat PV, and luck may have played a part just as luck played a part each and every time PV beat Burton year after year. After three years now can we please stop blowing it off as a "fluke" or "they got lucky". These boys work just as hard as the boys from PV. They sacrifice, they sweat, they work day in and day out just like the boys from PV do to try and compete with a team that has dominated the LPD for years. I am blown away by the fact that the kids from Burton have been accused of cheating and running into a win. Why imply they did not earn a victory Friday night? I know the boys from Burton knew exactly what they were up against and their nerves were quite visible during the first half. They certainly did not take anything away from PV so why do some on here want to take away from Burton? Life goes on and there will be other Friday nights to argue about on here I just hope that the days of "it was just a fluke" are finally over, and we can move on...after all you know what they say, third time is a charm.
Congratulations to the two best teams in the LPD for a great game. You guys knocked the @#$% out of each other and played at a high level of intensity, speed and skill that most people can't comprehend. The two coaches had their teams in the games. A tale of two halves with the first being dominated by a PV scheme and the second half dominated by a JIB adjustment. Does anybody know how hard these two teams prepare for one another? The most shocking element of the game is that they are both able to push aside the emotions and distractions and be receptive of their coaches advice and coaching. This area may no longer dominate the state of VA in football, but people we still have some good football to watch. Treasure and value it, for one day it might be gone and the only thing we are left with are the memories of the games such as the one played this past Friday Night. Good Luck to both teams for the rest of the year. One of you bring home the gold where it belongs. f#$% Northern and Eastern Va. Everybody quit being haters and root for these two teams when they make they make the playoffs since they will represent us. Go Vikes-Go Raiders: Go Raiders-Go Vikes (just so nobody thought I was biased). They are the class of the region and they need the community to show class in supporting them all the way to Salem.
